Gemini Introduces EU-Wide Derivatives From Malta

Gemini has launched derivatives from Malta which are applicable across the European Union. The exchange’s Investment Firm License from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) allows us to now offer tokenized equities derivatives and tokenized stocks under MiFID II (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive), a framework regulating the traditional financial markets.
This is an exciting development in our 2025 European expansion. It not only allows Gemini to offer tokenized stock products; it puts Gemini one step closer to offering our derivative products to both retail and institutional users in the EU and the EEA. These will include perpetual futures and other derivatives which will be available to advanced users of Gemini.
We’re confident this license will open up new opportunities in the European market and beyond, and we look forward to sharing further updates as we continue our journey.
